PYEONGCHANG, SOUTH KOREA — St. Cloud snowboarder and two-time paralypian medalist Mike Schultz is up for another accolade.
The U.S. Olympic Committee named Schultz a finalist for the Male Paralympic Athlete of the Games Award.
Schultz carried the American flag before the 74 members of the U.S. Paralympic Team at the opening ceremony earlier this month.
He won a gold medal in a snowboard cross event in Pyeongchang, South Korea, last week, wearing prostheic equipment he designed. Other Team USA paralympians used prosthetics from Schultz's company BioDapt.
Schultz also won a silver medal in the men's banked slalom event.
